Privacy Policy

LocalFeeders is operated by Battle Born Geckos LLC, based in Nevada, United States. The marketplace is currently an invite-reviewed beta open in Nevada and Oregon for locally available live invertebrate feeders and cleanup-crew organisms.

• Account details: display name and email address.
• Seller profile information, including seller name, city and ZIP area.
• Listings, including feeder details, availability, pricing and packages.
• Wanted requests you post and the exchange preferences attached to them.
• Messages you send to other members through the platform.
• Ratings and reputation information tied to confirmed transactions.
• Reports and other moderation-related information you submit.
• Optional photos: profile avatar and listing photos.
• Optional pickup information a seller chooses to publish on a listing.

Applying to sell asks for a small amount of private information: your legal name, your seller type, and — only if you apply as a registered business — your legal business name, state of registration and optional entity type. Sellers also self-certify that they are at least 18 years old and agree to the Terms of Use and Seller Rules; we store the date and the version of the documents accepted.

We do not collect a date of birth, driver's licence or other government ID, Social Security number or EIN. Seller application information is private: it is visible only to you and to LocalFeeders staff reviewing your account, and it is never shown on your public seller profile or in listings. We use it for seller review, account administration, safety investigations and legal compliance.

You can browse LocalFeeders as a guest. Creating an account uses email and password, or Google sign-in where available. Email verification is required before you can message, save, post Wanted requests, sell or rate. Passwords and sign-in credentials are handled by our authentication provider; LocalFeeders does not store your password.

Operating the site involves basic technical information such as requests to our hosting platform and aggregate traffic analytics provided by that platform (for example page views and referral information). We use this to keep the service running and to understand overall usage. We do not run our own advertising or cross-site tracking network.

• Listings and search results are ranked using ZIP-area centers rather than exact addresses.
• Precise browser location is used only when you explicitly choose a location feature, and it is held in memory for that session rather than saved to your profile.
• Home street addresses are not publicly displayed.
• A seller may voluntarily publish a specific permitted pickup point or business address for a listing; that is the seller's choice, per listing.
• Private Wanted exchange-location details are not shown publicly and remain access-controlled.
• Exact meetup arrangements should stay in private messages between the two people involved.

Conversations are tied to a listing or Wanted request. Authorized moderation may review reported conversations when investigating abuse, fraud or safety concerns.

LocalFeeders does not currently process marketplace payments, and does not collect or store credit or debit card information. Buyers and sellers arrange payment directly between themselves. Sellers are responsible for their own taxes, licensing, shipping, pickup and legal compliance.

Public: your display name, avatar, listings and photos, seller profile or storefront content, the generalized ZIP area of a listing, any pickup point a seller publishes, and revealed ratings.

Not public: your email address, your password, your private messages, private Wanted exchange-location details, seller application information such as your legal name and business registration details, reports you file, and moderation notes. Wanted requests are shown without identifying the buyer.

We use a small number of providers to run the service: Lovable Cloud (Supabase-based authentication, database and file storage), Google Maps Platform for map display and address lookup, and Google sign-in where you choose it. Map features are subject to the Google Privacy Policy and the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service.

We use reasonable technical measures, including encrypted connections, server-side access rules and private storage for uploaded photos. No online service can promise perfect security, and we do not claim to be.

Information is kept as long as needed to operate the marketplace — including maintaining transaction, reputation and moderation history — and to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and prevent abuse. Deleting a listing removes it and its photos from the marketplace, while related transaction and rating history is preserved so reputations remain accurate.

LocalFeeders accounts are for adults. Every account — buyer or seller — must be operated by someone at least 18 years old, which each member confirms by self-certification when they first use their account; sellers additionally certify during the seller application. Minors may browse public marketplace pages but may not create or operate an account, and a parent or legal guardian may create and operate an account for their own use. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. We record only the date of the certification and the versions of the documents accepted — we do not collect a date of birth or any government ID, and we do not claim to verify anyone's age.

The beta is operated from Nevada, United States, and the service is intended for users in the United States. Buying and selling is currently open in Nevada and Oregon.

As LocalFeeders grows we may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date, and continuing to use the service after an update means the updated policy applies.
