Terms of Service

By creating an account or using LocalFeeders, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

LocalFeeders is operated by Battle Born Geckos LLC, Nevada, United States.

LocalFeeders is in an early beta. Features may change, be added or be removed while we learn from real users, and buyer and seller participation is currently limited to Nevada and Oregon. Additional states open only after a manual review, and some feeder categories are unavailable in a state when that state's rules do not clearly allow them.

• LocalFeeders accounts are only for people 18 or older. Buyers and sellers must be 18+.
• Creating or using an account requires you to certify that you are at least 18 and agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. We record the date and document versions of that certification.
• Minors may browse public LocalFeeders pages but may not create or operate an account. A parent or legal guardian may create and operate an account for their own use.
• Applying to sell requires you to certify that you are at least 18, that your information is accurate, and that you agree to these terms and the Marketplace Rules.
• The service is not intended for children under 13.
• This is a self-certification, not age verification: we do not collect a date of birth or government ID and do not verify age.

Keep your login details private and your account information accurate. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.

Seller access is granted after a manual review. Approval means LocalFeeders has reviewed your application and enabled seller features on your account. It is not identity verification, age verification, a background check, or confirmation of any licence, permit or business registration. Buyers should still use normal care when arranging a transaction.

Applications ask for limited private information — legal name, seller type, and business registration details only if you apply as a registered business. We may decline, pause or revoke seller access at our discretion, including where information appears inaccurate.

• LocalFeeders helps members find each other locally.
• LocalFeeders is not the seller of members' feeders.
• LocalFeeders does not currently process marketplace payments.
• Buyers and sellers arrange price, payment, pickup or delivery directly with each other.

• Be at least 18 years old and keep your seller information accurate and current.
• Post truthful listings, photos and descriptions.
• Keep availability current and mark sold-out inventory promptly.
• Offer only lawful products permitted on LocalFeeders.
• Care for and hand off feeders in the condition described.
• Handle your own taxes, licensing and permits.
• Handle your own shipping, pickup logistics and safety.
• Handle your own payment collection, receipts and refunds with your buyer.

• Communicate honestly and show up for arranged meetups.
• Inspect feeders before completing a transaction.
• Understand that you are buying from another member, not from LocalFeeders.
• Keep your own care requirements and local rules in mind before purchasing.

The current version is focused on supported live invertebrate feeders and cleanup-crew organisms. No vertebrate animals may be listed. See Prohibited Feeders & Items for the full list, plus our Marketplace Rules and Seller Guidelines.

Listings show when inventory was last confirmed. Availability can change quickly, and a listing is an invitation to contact the seller rather than a guaranteed reservation.

Use LocalFeeders messaging for marketplace conversations. No harassment, spam, scams, off-platform solicitation of prohibited items, or sharing of other people's private information. Keep exact meetup details in private messages, and see our Marketplace Safety guidance.

Buyers can post Wanted requests describing what they are looking for. Requests are shown publicly without identifying the buyer, and private exchange-location details are only released to sellers who unlock a lead. Do not post Wanted requests for items that may not be listed.

Ratings are tied to confirmed marketplace transactions and are released once both sides have rated or the rating window closes. Ratings must be honest and based on your own experience. Do not trade, buy or coerce ratings.

Where practical we aim to explain the reason, and account suspensions leave your existing history readable.

You keep ownership of the listings, photos and text you post. By posting, you give Battle Born Geckos LLC permission to display and distribute that content as needed to operate and promote the marketplace. Only post content you have the right to use.

The LocalFeeders name, logo and site design belong to Battle Born Geckos LLC. Please do not use them in a way that suggests endorsement or affiliation without permission.

Map features are powered by Google Maps; by using them you also agree to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service. Other providers we rely on are listed in the Privacy Policy.

LocalFeeders does not perform background checks, identity verification, inspections, escrow, payment protection or insurance. We cannot guarantee that a seller, buyer, listing, availability claim or transaction will meet your expectations.

Transactions are between members. If something goes wrong, work it out with the other person first; you can also report the listing, request or account so we can review it against marketplace rules.

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" during the beta. To the extent allowed by law, Battle Born Geckos LLC makes no warranties about uninterrupted availability, accuracy of member-provided information, or fitness for a particular purpose.

To the extent allowed by law, Battle Born Geckos LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of LocalFeeders or from a transaction between members. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

You can stop using LocalFeeders at any time. We may suspend or end access for rule violations, unsafe conduct, or misuse of the service.

Beta features may change as we improve the marketplace. If we update these terms, the "last updated" date changes and continued use means the updated terms apply.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, United States, where Battle Born Geckos LLC is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. This does not remove any rights you have under the laws of your own state.

You are responsible for following the laws that apply where you are. That includes which invertebrate species you may keep, sell or transport, and — if you and the other party agree to ship rather than meet — federal and state live-animal shipping rules. LocalFeeders does not fulfil, package, ship, inspect or transport anything.
